Four residents were displaced following a fire that caused $60,000 in damage to a Mountain View home, fire officials said Sunday.

San Diego Fire-Rescue Department crews were dispatched at 11:45 p.m. Saturday to the fire in the 3600 block of Ocean View Boulevard, according to an incident log.

Crews saw smoke and flames coming from a room attached to a single-family home and put out the blaze by 1:51 a.m. Sunday.

Two adults and two children required assistance from the Red Cross.

Investigators determined that a heating element in the bedroom caused the fire.

They estimated damage to the structure at $50,000, along with $10,000 damage to the contents.

Crews received no reports of injuries.
