A 38-year-old man suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in the Mountain View neighborhood, authorities said Saturday.

The man was walking eastbound in the 4000 block of Imperial Avenue at about 10:50 p.m. Friday when he was struck by a white, newer-model Chevrolet Camaro that fled the scene, the San Diego Police Department reported.

Paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital, where he was expected to survive his injuries.

Police had no description of the suspect behind the wheel of the Camaro. They urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call the SDPD or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
