The two passengers who died in a car crash at Torrey Pines State Beach on Monday were identified Saturday by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Joshua Adonai Manzaneres and Johnny Ildefonzo Punzalan, both 19 and from Lake Elsinore, were ejected from a vehicle when the speeding car, going south on Torrey Pines Road at about 11 p.m. Monday, hit a guardrail and rolled down an embankment onto the beach below.

The victims were not wearing seat belts, the coroner’s report said.

Police said they suspected the driver, who received minor injuries, was driving under the influence. His name has not been released.
