A brush fire burned about four acres in Poway Sunday, causing limited evacuations in the industrial park of Brookprinter Place, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 1:52 p.m. and contained by 4:17 p.m.

Metate Lane was closed from Community Road to Rio Real, and Community Road was closed from Civic Center Drive to Stowe Drive, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

After the fire was contained, northbound lanes of Community Road were reopened, but southbound lanes remained closed. Metate remained closed with no estimated time of re-opening.

Firefighting helicopters on scene dropped water on the blaze, before being discharged, and CalFire San Diego units assisted Poway firefighters.

Crews reported that they stopped the forward rate of spread at about 2:30 p.m.

There were no reports of injuries or damaged structures.

Firefighters battled another small blaze in Poway Thursday, one that briefly threatened homes.
