Two males were apparently overdosing on fentanyl when their car slammed into the Yama Street gate at Naval Base San Diego Saturday, leaving it heavily damaged.

Authorities arrived at about 3 p.m. and administered Narcan shots to both men to counter the effects of the drug, according to OnScene.TV.

Medics took them to a local hospital for further treatment.

The California Highway Patrol, San Diego police and National City firefighters joined Navy officials at the scene.
