The weather will continue to be cooler on Tuesday, with morning and evening fog along the coast, the National Weather Service office in San Diego said.
A heavy marine layer and weak low-pressure system will keep the region cool until the weekend.
“Onshore flow will prevail,” the agency said. “Night and morning coastal low clouds and fog will extend inland into much of the valleys into Wednesday.”
Highs on Tuesday will be 65 to 70 near the coast, 72 inland, 71 to 76 in the western valleys, 76 to 81 near the foothills, 74 to 84 in the mountains and 99 to 104 in the deserts.
Despite the generally cooler weather, Lake Cuyamaca recorded a low temperature of 56 degrees on Monday that was the highest since 2014, when it was 55.
