The bacterial advisory for La Jolla Cove beach was lifted Saturday by San Diego County health authorities.

The Department of Environmental Health and Quality said Saturday that recent samples showed the beach no longer exceeds state health standards for recreational water use.

The Tijuana Slough Shoreline is still closed from the U.S.-Mexico border to the north end of the Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge, including Border Field State Park and Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge Shorelines. Bacteria levels there may exceed health standards, and beachgoers were urged to avoid water contact in the advisory area.

Beach advisory, warning and closure information can be found by calling a hotline at 619-338-2073.
