A low-pressure system will move closer to the West Coast this weekend, bringing strong onshore flow, cooler conditions, and a deeper marine layer, the National Weather Service said Friday.

Strong, gusty west winds are expected in the mountains and deserts over the weekend into early next week.

A wind advisory has been issued for parts of San Diego County from noon Saturday until 6 p.m. Monday.

High temperatures on Saturday were forecast to reach 67 to 72 near the coast, 73 inland, 76 to 81 in the valleys, 72 to 81 in the mountains and 98 to 103 in the deserts, according to the weather agency.

For the middle to end of next week, warming is expected, but uncertainty remains on how quickly and how much, forecasters said.
