A possibly armed man who charged into a Rolando Village home and locked himself in a room Sunday evening was arrested after a 2 1/2 hour standoff.

Tayvion Harrison, 29, was wanted in connection with four arrest warrants, including one for assault with a firearm, San Diego Police Lt. Adam Sharki told City News Service. He was taken into custody about 9 p.m.

The drama began around 6:30 p.m. in the 6200 block of Madeline Street, police told Fox5 News.

Officers responded to a call of an assault near 50th Street and El Cajon Avenue from which the suspect had fled, dropping a gun along the way.

Police and a SWAT unit set up a perimeter around the house and residents were safely evacuated.
