Check to see if you have clothing, furniture, and household goods as they will be accepted at five locations across San Diego County for National Thrift Shop Day, celebrated on Aug. 17.

Father Joe’s Villages invites the San Diego community to support its thrift stores with donations and to help raise awareness of how those donations can help local communities thrive.

Father Joe’s Villages currently accepts clothing, household items, jewelry, accessories, electronics, and more at its five donation centers.

Shoppers can also enjoy gently used items at discounted rates at one of the four store locations throughout the region.

Donating to and shopping at thrift stores has a host of benefits and can support a good cause. As the cost of living increases, hitting low-wage workers harder, these thrift stores offer shoppers incredible deals on necessities such as clothes, shoes, household items, and more.

Meanwhile, proceeds from FJV thrift stores support critical programs that help people end their homelessness for good – including meals, housing, health care, employment services, therapeutic childcare, and more.

“Generous individuals who donate clothing, furniture, and household goods ensure we can continue to provide quality programs to those in need,” said Deacon Jim Vargas, president, and CEO of Father Joe’s Villages. “By choosing to donate or shop at our store, you are choosing to support your local community and make life-changing programs accessible to our neighbors.”
